ABOUT THE COMPANY
The name of the company, Reasons of the Heart, Fine Jewelry is based on a translation from the French saying, "La coeur a ses raisons que la raison ne connait pas" by Blaise Pascal, which means, "The heart has its reasons, which reason does not understand." Sometimes in life, our heart guides us when reason cannot. So it is, when we discover a piece of jewelry we love, it evokes an emotional response that can only come from the heart.
ABOUT OUR LOGO
The Reasons of the Heart logo design is based on symbolism and tradition. While we recognize that jewelry is not in itself profound, the intention of using symbolism in our logo is to inspire thoughtfulness about greater meaning and spiritual principles in all areas of life. The symbols contained in our logo include:
The ring. The ring at the center of the logo represents the core of our business. The three stones in the ring represent the past, the present, and the future.
The heart. There are two hearts on our logo; one nestled inside of a larger one. Hearts symbolize love and caring for one another.
The five pointed star. The five-pointed star is a symbol most commonly associated with a healthy body and spirit. One of the earliest five pointed stars was seen in ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics where it symbolized the spiritual world and the realm of the stars. The five-pointed star is also found on the Great Seal of the United States and each star represents the number of original colonies in the United States. The Great Seal of the United States was designed in 1885 by Tiffany & Company, the premier jewelry firm, who collaborated with many historians to design the Seal.
Reasons for using the number 13. The number 13 has not always been associated with “bad luck” or Friday the 13th. Our logo contains 13 five pointed stars which reflects the symbolism found on the Great Sealof the United States. The number 13 has traditionally been associated with transformation, renewal, and regeneration. The founders of the United States believed the American Revolution was the beginning of a new order of the ages. The number 13 also associated with the measurement of time. In each calendar quarter there are 13 weeks, which totals 52 weeks in the year. In Christianity, Jesus and the 12 disciples added up to the number 13. In our opinion, these positive meanings surrounding the number 13 outweigh any contemporary negative connotations about the number.
The sunbursts. Our logo also contains 13 sunbursts from which each five-pointed star radiates. A sunburst represents energy and radiance.
The banner. The banner at the top of our logo contains the name of our company, Reasons of the Heart. In ancient and traditional symbol designs, text was most often placed inside of a banner.
The roman numerals MMV. These roman numerals on the banner at the bottom of the logo represent 2005, the year that the company was established.
